Mobile Greek Fest 2017The 55th annual Mobile Greek Fest is a great place to discover Greek culture, shop for Greek gifts, and -of course!- enjoy lots of delicious Greek food! October 19th through the 21st, 2017 at Annunciation Greek Church in Mobile, AL.

It may all seem like Greek to you but we think you’ll have one Hellenic of a good time at the annual Mobile Greek Fest. The food alone should be enough to tempt you. Gyros, Souvlaki, Spanakopita, Pastitso, Baklava, Loukoumades, and so much more will be on the air – and in your belly, should you attend.

Sip and sup on Greek pastry, Greek coffee, wine, beer and other delicacies at the festival, then take some home with a to-go dinner. There’s even a curb-side drive-through for those who want to celebrate Greek Fest on the go. Now that’s convenience!

Mobile Greek Fest is so much more than just a smorgasbord of ethnic food, however. Its a true celebration of the Greek culture that has been a part of Mobile – and the US – since the beginning. In fact, one of the best parts of Greek Fest is the opportunity to tour the beautiful Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church and witness the live music and Greek Dance Troupes.

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church opens its doors during the festival, allowing visitors to view its classic architecture and rich iconography. Visitors may choose to enjoy a self-guided tour or follow along with a prominent member of the Greek community as guide.

Entertainment will come from a variety of sources, including the traditional Greek music of Lakis Vaggelakis Zervas and Bouzoikie. This violin, keyboard, and drum duo have 27 years of experience playing in Greece and will be featured all three days of the festival. Come listen to them as they display their musical talents in a variety of classic, Greek styles as well as on modern tunes.

You’ll also marvel at the authentically attired Hellenic Dancers as they demonstrate their expansive repertoire of over 200 traditional dances from Greece, Cyprus and Asia Minor. You’ll be so moved you may even get up and do a little Greek dancing, too!

Vendors will also be on hand during Mobile Greek Fest with a variety of wonderful Greek offerings. Apparel, music cds, art, hand-carved icons, jewelry, grocery items and much more. Greek Fest is a great way to get a jump on your holiday shopping.

Mobile’s annual Greek Festival has been an Alabama tradition for 55 years now. Come out and see what all the fuss is about. Opa!
