It’s practically a natural law: no matter how amazing last year’s event was, Dauphin Street Beer Festival is one of those quintessential summer events that just gets better every year. Each festival sees new beers and ciders to sample, new venues to visit, and new happy faces in the crowd.

Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Mobile Jazz Festival 2019

Mobile Jazz Festival 2019Attention jazzoids – the annual Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Mobile Jazz Festival is almost upon us. This year’s headliner is renowned jazz trombonist and record producer, Delfeayo Marsalis! July 22nd through August 2, 2019 in Mobile, AL.

The Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival isn’t just one but a series of jazz-related events span more than a month. The festival’s goal is spreading the jazz message via an eclectic lineup of world-renowned and up-and-coming jazz artists.

Beyond Delfeayo Marsalis, this year’s event will also see the E. B. Coleman Orchestra, Karmilla Ali, and The Marcus Johnson Summer Jazz Camp Band.

The festival kicks off on July 25th with “An Evening of Jazz & Spoken Word” at The History Museum of Mobile (111 S. Royal Street). This event features Yo Jonesy & the Crowned Jewelz, Huggy Bear da Poet, and The PowerLines Poets.

The big event is Jazz at Laidlaw, on August 2nd, with headliner Delfeayo Marsalis. This concert will also feature the E. B. Coleman Orchestra, Karmilla Ali, and The Marcus Johnson Summer Jazz Camp Band.

Get Set for SouthSounds Music and Arts Festival 2019

SouthSounds 2019SouthSounds 2019, Mobile AL’s annual Music and Arts Festival, is bringing over 70 artists to 16 different downtown venues in the Azalea City – April 12th through the 14th, 2019.

SouthSounds Music and Arts Festival began in 2011 as a platform for independent and up-and-coming Southern music and art. That first concert was a great success and lead to an annual succession of festivals, each larger and more exciting than the last.

SouthSounds 2019 looks like it will continue the streak with more than 70 artists. Bands like Of Montreal, Corey Smith, J Roddy Walston & The Business, Dumpstaphunk, and Surfer Blood, to barely scratch the surface. Though the festival lineup favors indie rock, it is intentionally eclectic. You may hear country, bluegrass, metal, soul, funk, blues, r&b, hip-hop, and more.

Come on out to the oak-lined Main Street of Olde Towne Daphne, AL and celebrate the culture of Mobile Bay’s eastern shore. The annual Jubilee Festival of Arts attracts thousands to the area each year and you’re invited!

Nearly 100 arts and crafts vendors from the community and region will be on hand and are the core of the festival. They’ll showcase the very best in both functional and decorative handcrafted items like jewelry, paintings, pottery, sculpture, wood, mixed media, and more.

Jubilee Festival of Arts also means lots of great food! Local food trucks, restaurants, and chefs will be out in force, offering their finest. Hamburgers, chicken wings, gourmet waffles, ice cream sundaes, kettle corn, and more.

Dauphin Street Beer Festival 2018It’s almost time for Dauphin Street Beer Festival 2018, the 21st annual return of Mobile, AL’s popular, downtown beer fest! Now that the festival has reached legal drinking age, it’s bound to be more fun than ever before! 6pm to 9pm, August 25th, 2018.

Dauphin Street Beer Festival 2018 continues a long standing Mobile tradition that started back in 1997. Since that first festival, the beer fest has only increased in scope and popularity. The annual August event draws both visitors and residents to downtown Mobile from all around the region.

The festival takes place in downtown Mobile and is more of a pub-crawl than your typical stationary beer tasting. Attendees spend the evening sampling beers at a variety of downtown venues. More than 30 different Mobile restaurants and bars participate, with samples of more than 90 different beers available.

The 34th annual return of this beloved event promises international food, drink, shopping, art, entertainment, and so much more. November 18th, 2017 at the Mobile Civic Center.

There’s nothing quite like the annual Mobile International Festival. Where else can you experience cultures from 70 nations all in one space?

The festival has been an opportunity to experience a broad array of cultural heritages right here in Mobile since 1983. Native Americans, long-time U.S. residents, and recent immigrants make up the nearly 2,000 volunteers who help make the festival reality every year.

Attend Mobile Mardi Gras 2017 – The Country’s Oldest Carnival Celebration!

Attend Mobile Mardi Gras 2017!Did you know that Mobile Mardi Gras 2017 is the oldest annual Carnival celebration in the United States? The first Mardi Gras was celebrated here in 1703 and it doesn’t look like we’re going to stop anytime, soon!

Mardi Gras itself predates the U.S. by thousands of years. The origin is pagan celebrations of spring and fertility, according to historians. Carnival eventually merged with Christianity because that was easier than abolishing the popular, time-honored tradition! Consequently, Mardi Gras became a prelude to Lent, the 40 days between Ash Wednesday and Easter Sunday.

One aspect of the Mobile Mardi Gras 2017 that makes it unique is the prevalence of the Moon Pie.

The 30th Annual Alabama Pecan Festival

Alabama Pecan Festival 2015If you like pecans, particularly if you’re partial to pecan pie, then Mobile, Alabama has a 3-day festival for you: the 30th annual Alabama Pecan Festival – November 6th through the 8th, 2015.

Pecans have been an important part of Alabama produce since the 1940’s, when the crops that were begun in the early 1900’s really started to take off. The Alabama Pecan Festival is a salute to this success story and the humble, delicious little fruit that most of us think of as a nut: the pecan!

The Alabama Pecan Festival – a 3-day celebration held in Mobile, AL – features cook-offs for dishes like best barbecue and best hamburger, an antique wooden boat show, arts and crafts vendors, antique cars and tractors, a carnival with rides, the crowning of the new Alabama Pecan Festival Queen and, of course, music!

Mobile Southsound Music Festival and Arts Alive 2013

We are very excited to be a participating venue for South Sounds Music Festival 2013. This year’s second annual music event will span three days April 12-14. South Sounds Music Festival is held in conjunction with Arts Alive festival. This year The Malaga Inn will be hosting The Pollies, Belle Adair, Payne and Ground level Control. They will all be performing acoustic sets in the courtyard. We are honored to be a part of this budding music festival that show cases great southern art with all the greatest new southern bands.
