AeroFest 2016, April 1st through the 3rd, is the second annual recurrence of a festival celebrating our nation's heroes: injured military service members and Veterans with a world-class lineup of music, art, sports, education, festivities and fun.
Our nation relies and was built upon a core of brave and patriotic men and women whose very real, personal sacrifices were made in the name of a grateful nation.
AeroFest 2016 salutes these heroes and dedicates its profits to critical Veteran's issues, such as PTSD, suicide, and homelessness, as well as supporting like-minded charitable organizations and future fund-raising events.
A multi-dimensional event, Aerofest 2015 brought America’s Veterans together with the Gulf Coast community for a weekend of live music, Crossfit Challenges, 14 Titan FC MMA bouts, Hero Games, an Independence Ride, the Arts Alive Festival
, Wheelchair Basketball games, and much more.
Top-name artists, such as Big and Rich, Dawes, Matisyahu, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Dumpstaphunk, and Zoogma, among others, graced the stage at Aerofest 2015 and artists of a similar stature can be expected at this year's event. Perhaps the biggest draw for Aerofest 2015 were the four, sanctioned TitanFC MMA title fights held on Friday night of the festival and also nationally broadcast to 93 million homes.
While the AeroFest 2016 event schedule and lineup has yet to be released, indications it will be much like last year's event and then some, with even more artists providing music of all genres, vendors, food, drink, entertainment and activities for all ages, even educational and vocational opportunities!
The best part of Aerofest, however - beyond the glam of the performances, the excitement of the contests, the proceeds collected - was the bringing together of the wounded warriors and the Gulf Coast community so that the two groups could come together to share in the experience, crushing the stigma of disability and difference.
