Mobile, AL's 4th Annual Gears and Beers 2018

Come to Mobile, AL this November for Gears and Beers 2018! This popular event includes four bike rides and an after-party at Fort Conde, the Fort of Colonial Mobile. November 10th, 2018. There's nothing quite like getting out in the open air on a bicycle and Mobile, AL is a great place for it. In fact, Gears and Beers has grown so popular that it had to be moved from downtown Mobile to Fort Conde! The 4th annual return of Gears and Beers continues the trend with a bicycle ride for everyone! Choose from the 8.2 mile fun ride, a 30, 60, or go all out on the 100 miler.

Routes for Gears and Beers 2018

The Beignet Buster Fun Ride - 8.2 miles, starts at 9am This FUN family and friends ride heads out to Arlington Park in the Brookley Aeroplex for a rest stop at mile 4.1 for coffee and beignets! A great ride for anyone looking for a fun, social ride on their cruiser or hybrid. The Swamp Romp - 30 miles, starts at 8am The Swamp Romp travels south to the Dog River and Peninsula of Mobile Community neighborhoods. Riders will want to be sure to bring their cameras for pictures along the beautiful Bay Front Road. The Mystic Metric - 63 miles, starts at 7:30am The Mystic Metric is a flat and fast route that will take you south along Mobile Bay. The course heads over the Dog River Bridge, west toward Theodore, and then south for a loop through gorgeous Bellingrath Gardens. This ride is designed for experienced riders with some long-distance rides under their belt. The Bayou 100 - 100 Miles, starts at 7am The Bayou 100 route begins in Historic Downtown Mobile, then heads south, down Mobile Bay's western shore. The course goes through Bellingrath Gardens, Bayou la Batre, and Coden. This ride features a variety of scenic rest stops along the way, including one at the Rolston Park Bayou with a special culinary treat! The Bayou 100 is the newest addition to the Alabama Backroads Century Series, and the first Series ride in the Mobile area!

Mobile Gears and Beers 2018

November 10th, 2018 Fort Conde - The Fort of Colonial Mobile 150 S Royal St, Mobile, AL 36602 All 2018 races start and end at Fort Conde, the Fort of Colonial Mobile. Fort Conde is also the site of the Gears and Beers after-party. This is less than half-a-mile from the original location, yet provides a safer and more enjoyable ride environment for all. Registration includes assorted cold breakfast foods before the rides as well as ride-appropriate snacks and water throughout. Participants also gain free entrance to the after-party, including your first pint of beer. Those who register to ride before November 1st will also receive a custom event t-shirt. Gears and Beers is held on Veteran's Day weekend every year. All active duty military, retirees, veterans, and Reserve/National Guard get a $10 discount to as a thank you for your service to our country.
